A space where parents and children can grow.

About Flourish

Formation

Flourish stemmed from Molly Carroll’s experience of developing an after-school program in San Francisco named Girl Space. Girl Space provided an environment for girls to grow and learn about themselves through connecting and having fun with other girls. In just 4 years the program grew from 13 girls to more than 200. The inspiration for Flourish came from grown-up girls, also known as Moms, asking about a space for parents. The birth of Molly’s son Tommy, and her move to beautiful Bend, prompted her to fulfill her dream of opening a space for children and parents to grow.

Our Philosophy

At Flourish, we believe that parents and children need a space to come together to grow as individuals and members of a community. To have a space where they can connect and build friendships around similar challenges that life presents us, while having fun and strengthening life skills. It does not matter what age we are, we can all benefit from working on similar principles. It is our goal to plant within each girl the seeds of success as she embarks on the often challenging journey from girlhood to adolescence and to provide an environment where parents can find resources and make connections to better themselves and, therefore, their families.

Comments from participants in the Girl Space program

Molly takes girls’ social and emotional development seriously, and teaches girls to take themselves seriously, too. But nothing about Girl Space feels serious or somber. On the contrary, the girls and Molly, all seem to be having the time of their lives.”
